LCC Bacolod – School of Architecture and Fine Arts Celebrates 50 years of Art

A total of 73 Giant Puppets, works of Architecture, Fine Arts and Interior Design Students will be paraded through the Bacolod City as part of the 33rd MassKara Festival. Each puppet measures 12-feet tall and weighing about three kilos and will be born by their human creators.

This year, as part of the 50th Year Anniversary of the College, the Giant Puppets will have “Mini – Mee” versions to be exhibited at the lobby of the LCC-Bacolod as part of the MassKara Art Weekend said Arch Butch Alisbo, Dean of the College.

The giant puppets will also be paraded from the Negros Occidental Provincial Capitol Lagoon Park to the Bacolod City Public Plaza at 3 p.m. on October 15, and at about 6 p.m. on October 19 at the Lacson Tourism strip for the “Pakilitaay, Pakitaay: Bacolod’s Treasures,” Alisbo also said.

Antonio Tejado, the School’s Head of Fine Arts Department, said City guests will see the Giant Puppets get animated on Lizares Street to the public plaza at 1 p.m. on October 21, and from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the same day. The Lights will energize the puppets as they dance through the Bacolod Festival.

The Grand Celebration of Art and Sculptures was witnessed by LCC SARFAID students who were very proud of their art works.
