Juray Mora: Faith for the New Year 2013
The New Year 2013:
I was excited to attend the last service for the year 2012. When I arrived at the Center, I greeted some friends and thanked God for so many things. I also had to usher.
What even got me thrilled was that Pastor Juray was going to preach.
December 30, 2012 – Robinson’s Place Bacolod 3rd Floor.
He shared some scriptures from Matthew:
The Woman with Demon Possessed Daughter
“He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.” The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said. He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.” “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.” Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.
Is it ethical to call a person a “dog”. It’s certainly degrading, demeaning, humiliating, totalling disgraceful. That’s just what Jesus did! Would you allow other people to dishonor you like this?
I am surely not encouraging humiliating other people. There are things in life that feels disheartening. Like failure. It robs the joy from your heart. But don’t hold on to Offense. If you do, you will be losing out on a lot of great things. The Woman did not. And because of her perseverance in spite of ridicule, Jesus found what was there all along – Faith. And rewarded it.
“Woman, you have great Faith. Your request is granted.” How was her daughter healed again?
The Blind Men
When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they replied. Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith will it be done to you“;
There are many other places Jesus visited in Israel.
“Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?” they asked. “Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother’s name Mary, and aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? Aren’t all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?” And they took offense at him.
But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own town and in his own home.”
And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.”
What did Jesus require before he did Miracles. Faith is essential to God working mightily in your life.
Great Faith, Great Miracles,
Small Faith Small Miracles,
No Faith – No Miracles!
Because “According to your FAITH will it be done to you”.
1. Faith must Grow.
Faith can not stay in the status quo. It hopes beyond what it does not understand.
What does the word of God say about me, my situation and my condition?
The Word of God is the PLAN, WILL and PROMISE of God.
2. Faith Overcomes.
Countless stories have been told in the Faith Hall of Fame – about Samson, David, Gideon, Elijah, Abraham. It was all done through Faith. Faith perseveres, it sees what is ahead.
3. Faith Receives.
If you have a Faith problem – you have a Word Problem. “Faith comes from hearing and hearing from the Word of God.
Faith = Word.
Finally Faith receives what God has promised. There are thousands of promises in the Bible.
There are some dreams that God has promised to us but have not yet arrived. We have to keep on actively, patiently waiting.
Would God Find faith when he comes knocking in your door?
The Promises of God is Guaranteed by Jesus to All by Faith and by Grace. It’s not something we do. Now that we are clear about that. . . Our only response then is FAITH – to Trust and Believe!
Faith in God connects us to His plan regardless of our Situation.
“I declare that I will not just survive this year. I will thrive! I will prosper despite every difficulty that may come my way. I know every setback is a set up for a come back. I will not get stagnant, give up on my dreams, or settle where I am. I know one touch of God’s favor can change everything. I am ready for a year of blessings and a year of thriving. This is my declaration.” (Credit thanks to Stef Sanchez)
