The Jordan: Crossing the Promised Land

Filipinos are a breed of sentimental people. They seldom like goodbyes. But there was one goodbye from this land that was equally heavy emotionally: Moses who has fought and prayed and fasted to reach the Promise Land is a few kilometers of his goal but God says, this is as far as you can go.

This is Mount Nebo in Jordan.

How we ended there? is a long story. This how its happened.

The picture below shows the powerful view from Mt Nebo.

Packing our things from Manila we took a trip to Dubai and connected to Jordan Airport in Amman.

The Jordanian Airport was interesting with arched roofs which carried the spans. This was covered in Glass on the sides. That airport was done in concrete, a popular material in the middle east. It was plain concrete showing the honesty of material. What was spectacular though, was the ceiling interiors that was executed in a modern way. The ceiling were divided into triangular sections with specific sections fit out with metal louvers. It created a beautiful pattern of triangles considering the wide space lobby.

After a flight on Emirates Airlines, actually my first! we found ourselves trekking from Jordan onto this Mountain range where Moses looked sadly upon the land promise to him and his children.
